Niall Maxwell in Wales

To accommodate both his design studio, his wife's art studio, and house his family of four, architect Niall Maxwell designed and built the New Barn in Carmarthenshire, Wales. With 800 sq. ft. to work with, Maxwell used dry-lining board, a material commonly used by art galleries for its structural advantage in art-hanging, as a low-cost and visually striking interior wall cladding. Exposed engineering timber framing, corrugated roofing, and exposed electrical conduit fall in line with the embrace of industrial details. All this, paired with distinctively antique furnishings make for a dynamic interior for home and office. For more, visit the Rural Office For Architecture. Via Remodelista.
